This Friday we’re taking a closer look at what’s on the menu for Spring at Pizza Express Kendal…

It’s hard to believe that the much loved Pizza Express brand is 52 years old, but what’s even more surprising is that they’re still enthusiastically renewing and refreshing their menu for each season. This Spring sees the addition of new starters and new puddings as well as fabulous additions to the main event – including vegan and gluten free options for diners.

Let’s take a look at the new gluten free options first. Here’s Head of Food & Drink, Holly Davies talking about their previous introduction of gluten free pizza bases, toppings, desserts, salads and starters. Which were followed by gluten free dough balls, a gluten free Peroni, and – new for 2017 – a gluten free pasta dish: rigatoni…

And if you’re vegan, there are plenty of options from nibbles right through to desserts, with a strong suggestion that vegan cheese will be joining the menu in Summer…

So what’s new for starters this season? Well, seafood fans will be glad to hear that it’s Cod Crochette. Baked, smooth, smoky are the words we need to capture this dish, which has a subtle jalapeño kick and is served with a creamy anchovy mayonnaise…

And the pizza additions? Watch this…

But we can’t forget those with a sweet tooth. Bring on the Lemon Bundt Cake, of which Holly says: ‘This dessert provides the perfect fix for Great British baking lovers’…

It all looks and sounds amazing doesn’t it?

And the Kendal restaurant is the perfect place to enjoy it all. A good choice for lunch or dinner, the restaurant boasts the option of a bite to eat outside on the Wainwright’s Yard piazza (if the sunshine cooperates). Get booking!
