Back to school adverts are starting to creep into shop windows. Shopping for September will have already begun: shoes, clothes and stationery etc. But summer’s not quite over and there’s still another two weeks for you to fill with family fun in Kendal. If you’re running out of ideas, there’s something for all the family here in Wainwright’s Yard.
Trying to get shopping done with the kids around is never easy, however there’s plenty to entertain the children in Armstrong Ward. Their stunning shop is home to an array of children’s toys, from Maileg mice and bunnies to animal figures and more traditional wooden toys. The kinetic sand they regularly have on display is always popular and great for keeping the kids entertained while you discover what else the shop has to offer. And, if you’re heading for crisis point, there’s always the café downstairs with the promise of a tasty treat!
Another way to reward good behaviour is to treat the family to a meal out. Pizza Express is the perfect place to go! There’s something for all generations: food from pizza to pasta, and drinks from sparkling water to Sauvignon Blanc. And there’s no doubt the kids will love the Piccolo menu: a starter, a main, a desert and a drink all for just £7.25!
This fabulous meal comes with an activity pack filled with games and colouring to keep littlies entertained while they wait for their delicious food to arrive – watching the chefs make the pizzas and spinning the dough is great for curious minds!
Pizza Express is also running a competition for children based on the book The Creakers by Tom Fletcher. All they need to do is draw their very own Creaker and upload it to the Pizza Express website to be in with a chance of winning a personalised copy of The Creakers and a Creakers sleepover kit. Five runners-up will each win £50 worth of Puffin Books and a Pizza Express gift card!
