The contemporary Kendal deli, which serves up fantastic salads, soups, sandwiches, and cakes from around the world opened just over a year ago. It’s in the heart of Wainwright’s Yard. There’s a really relaxed vibe and owner Tony’s ethos is that everything is cooked from scratch, on the premises. If you’re after something a little different, he’s always open to tailoring his cooking too.
Kendal deli isn’t simply eat-in
As well as calling in during opening hours (Mon-Sat 9am-5.30pm), you can enjoy the teams cooking from the comfort of your own home, or for a special occasion.
Try Tony’s new ‘take it and bake it’ range. These are hearty, home-made meals which are all cooked in the café kitchen with the freshest ingredients. They can be warmed at home in the microwave or oven.
Delicious meals already stocked up and ready to taste include; thai green chicken curry, lamb hotpot, beef and mushroom casserole, lentil and mushroom dahl and sweet potato, chickpea and coconut curry. The choices will keep changing, so look out for new dinner options soon too.
Prices are £3.95 or £4. Just grab a tub from the freezer next to the counter on your way out.
Occasion catering can also be delivered straight to your door or venue. Either browse a sample menu of Pomegranate and Sage’s favourite quiches, frittatas and meat platters or sit and develop something totally bespoke with Tony. He’ll work with your budget and tastes.
Need to hire a space?
The café is a great space for a small gathering – whether that be a children’s birthday party, meeting hire or commercial event.
For the kids, you bring the guests, games, and bunting and the team will inspire the little ones with the food and drink. Work with them to pick a menu you love. We like the idea of an old-fashioned children’s party with open finger sandwiches, cupcakes, fruit and a little party bag to take away. There’s plenty of parking space for prams too.
