MUM'S the word!
, 21 February 2011 –
Next to Valentine’s, it’s Mother’s Day that we find the most stressful when it comes to finding that perfect present.
After all, we owe our mums a lot - over the years they’ve been our friend, teacher and sock fairy rolled into one.
But it really is the thought that counts when it comes to April 3 this year (diary that date, all you dads whose role it is to buy on behalf of little dots and tots!).
You’ll find plenty of inspiration in the Wainwright’s Yard stores.
But we think this beautiful bronze wirework bowl from elegant homeware shop La Maison strikes just the right note. Priced at £49.99, the on-trend circular pattern is so gorgeous it would be a shame to fill it with anything!
Of course, a bunch of Spring flowers would be a treat on their own - but present them in one of these LSA Zofia Glassware vases, starting at £64 from contemporary accessories store Gear, and you can expect a double helping of mum’s signature pudding at her next Sunday lunch.
These design-led Pantone mugs (on the shelves in Gear at £8) are also a surefire hit - particularly if they come with a pledge that you’ll keep them topped up with fresh coffee!
Now, chaps buying on behalf of little treasures take note: extra brownie points will be awarded for helping the children pick out this striking Kleshna glass and silver bracelet from European fashion boutique Box 2. Classy, timeless and such a steal at £21.95!
