STEPPING into contemporary homestore La Maison feels a bit like visiting another country.
European designed vases, lamps, photo frames and other chic home accessories sit upon stylish solid oak furniture to create stunning room sets. It’s like walking into the pages of an inspiring home style magazine.
We don’t just love the individual pieces, we love the ideas it gives us for our own homes. The fabulous layout is thanks to these two and their exemplary eye for design.
Sarah Felstead and Frances Magee are both trained graphic designers - giving them a head start on us mere mortals when it comes to creating eye-catching displays and shelves that simply draw us into the store.
La Maison manager Frances says: “It helps that we both have a design background, but the products here are so lovely they really speak for themselves wherever they sit.”
As well as the home furniture and accessories, the store stocks an exclusive range of jewellery and cards. And it has become famed for its range of hanging hearts - to add a touch of warmth to every home.
Frances adds: “Most of the pieces are from continental designers and we try to display them in a way that gives people ideas on how to put things together in their own homes.
“Hopefully our customers are inspired when they walk into La Maison.”
