DESIGN open door

, 18 April 2012 – 0 comment

New designers and makers are being given the opportunity to bring their products to market with the help of Jackie and Andrew at Armstrong Ward

The two professionals have over 20 years of retail buying experience, including working for multinational retailers and running a successful Kendal business, and, taking inspiration from Liberty’s of London they are holding their first British design open door event from Monday 14 May to Friday 18 May.

Jackie explains: “We are very keen to encourage northern or home grown design talent and this open event allows us to be far more proactive and supportive in the way we do that. Anyone interested in submitting products will need to complete an application form, which will be assessed by a panel and those who are successful will be invited to come and see us during design week.”

Andrew adds: “In our experience there are some fantastic small designers and makers out there who may simply lack in confidence or may be unsure about how to approach retailers or how to cost their products. We are offering a partnership to bring their fledgling products to market.”

So if you are a maker or designer of textiles, ceramics, stationery or anything else and are interested in the open week event either visit the website (www.armstrongward.co.uk) for an application form or call and ask at Armstrong Ward, 8 Wainwright’s Yard, Kendal.

The closing date for application forms to be returned is Monday 30 April.
