Booths has been on the scene in Kendal since the 1930s. Its hallmark is a high standard of food, choice and personal service – qualities the company is determined to retain after its relocation within the town centre.
New era for the Gazette
From scandalous beginnings to a multi-departmental modern business, The Westmorland Gazette has come a long, long way since 1818.
About the design
Yorkshire-based artists Idris Walters, who has worked on previous projects with Maple Grove Developments, was behind the initial illustrations of the Wainwright's Yard scheme.
Designs on the future
Tony Hills has already played a major part in shaping much of Kendal. The Lancaster-based architect, who designed the Lune Valley home he shares with his wife Helena, has come a long way from his Bournemouth roots after reading architecture at Nottingham University before moving to Manchester in 1980.
Store to resemble a bustling market
Architects behind Kendal's multi-million pound town centre redevelopment have pledged to deliver a fusion of traditional and cutting edge design.
