Half term fun in Kendal
As the February half-term holiday approaches, there are plenty of family-friendly things to see and do in Kendal.
Let your children’s imagination run wild at the Rag Tag Arts drop-in in Elephant’s Yard or catch a talk about Europe’s oldest mummy at Kendal Museum.
Wainwright’s Yard offers lots of inspiration, too. Stock up on your pancake ingredients at Booths or Another Weigh, ready to flip, stack and enjoy on Shrove Tuesday (17th February).
Or treat the family to a stress-free meal at Pizza Express. You can get two large pizzas, dough balls and any two sides for £50 when you dine in.
If your little ones have pocket money to spend, look no further than independent lifestyle shop Armstrong Ward. Here you can find gifts, toys, crafts, homeware and much more.
Elsewhere Bar is the perfect place to pause and recharge, with great coffee, cakes, hot chocolate and a selection of stronger drinks on offer!
Kendal’s calendar is busy all year, and the rest of 2026 has a great mix of festivals, community celebrations and cultural events to look forward to. There’s the Folk, Jazz and Blues festival in April, Kendal Family Festival in July, and Comic Fest in September, to name a few.
From springtime markets to festive winter favourites, Wainwright’s Yard sits alongside it all. Be sure to keep an eye on our events calendar for a full breakdown of all the events and festivals in Kendal in 2026.
