Free life-saving Message in a Bottle kits
Did you know that free Message in a Bottle kits are available from Kendal Lions Book Shop in Wainwright’s Yard? The scheme helps people store essential medical and contact details in their fridge, so emergency services can quickly access vital information when it matters most.
The Message in a Bottle scheme is an easy, effective way to store essential personal and medical details where emergency services know to look — in the fridge. The bottles can save valuable time when it matters most, supplying vital information in a standardised form to help paramedics, police, firefighters, or social services.
The Message in a Bottle scheme was devised by Kendal Lions in 2000, and over 6 million bottles have since been distributed nationwide by Lions Club to people with diabetes, allergies, disabilities or life-threatening illnesses.
The bottles are also ideal for anyone living alone who would be reassured to know this information is easily
accessible should they become ill.
