The evening begins at 5 PM at Abbot Hall Park, where you watch incredible festival films before joining the festive parade led by the rhythmic beats of Drum Nation and the spectacle of dazzling stilt walkers.

At 6 PM, the parade winds its way through Kendal’s streets, spreading holiday spirit all the way to Market Place.The final destination is the Switch-On Stage in Market Place. Here, the excitement builds with traditional Christmas carols, and the big switch-on countdown. The stage opens at approximately 6:30 PM as the parade arrives.

Enjoy free teacup rides, meet Santa himself, and dive into creative activities with Ragtag Arts. Pair all this with delicious food and drink stalls, open from 6 PM until 8 PM, for a truly festive experience.
