Booths
Here in Wainwright’s Yard, we are lucky enough to have a Booths supermarket – one of their six Cumbrian stores, which focusses on high-quality food and a great shopping environment.

Booths has been owned by the same family since 1847, when its first store opened in Blackpool. Hard-wired into their DNA is a mission “to sell the best goods available, in attractive stores, with excellent assistants”. And that’s what you will find in the Kendal store.
Fiercely and proudly Northern and committed to using local suppliers, you will find an unrivalled selection of produce from Cumbria, Yorkshire and Lancashire.
Counter service is a big part of the Booths experience. Staff on the fish, meat, cheese and deli counter are generously knowledgeable.
Booths also has a good reputation for their wines; unearthing unique and often little-known ones to match their remarkable food.
Recent awards, which demonstrate the ongoing achievement of their founding ambitions, include 11 Great Taste Awards, 19 commendations at the World Cheese Awards and 19 International Wine Challenge medals. Booths were also named Decanter Magazine’s ‘Wine Supermarket of the Year’ and won ‘Food to Go Retailer of the Year’ at the Sammie Awards.
Next to the store to you will find car parks on the upper and lower level. Booths also has a café and toilets.
